A dedicated portal for Display Calibration was long overdue. I am happy that we have it now, thanks to Ted!

Yes it's here, finally a forum for the actual subject, not driven by what the sponsors like or don't.
Everybody has experiences which are questions for others, this is the place to share.
And let's be honest, such can be only run by someone who is an respected professional by the forum users themselves.
Ted certainly fits this profile and speaking for my self I am one of the lucky guys who got helped to achieve my calibrations.
Still to learn a lot from also the other awesome people over here, but Ted big THX for being here for the calibration community.

Hey guys,

I'm still working with layout, while I want your opinion about how to separate valuable info from discussion, to be easier for someone to locate very quick all the info without spending so much time reading multiple pages thread.

Look there an example and let me know, about Low-Cost Patch Generators for example:

viewforum.php?f=20

@ Announcement, there will be locked threads where no-one will able to post, so these will be the 'Master'' Guides per device.

It will have posts from me or you, where with many detail will be explained the recommendation of settings per software/device or other explanations.

Also @ Topics area there will be available the same threads per device but titled as 'FAQ & Discussion'; these will be 'sticky' to appear at the top of topics list.

Because we don't want the 'valuable info' to be mixed with general discussion, when someone will write something useful, and post it to 'FAQ & Discussion' area I will copy or move it to the 'Guide' area (locked to prevent user posts).

So all the 'valuable info' will be there to the 'Guide' area.

The same logic will have the other categories, the Instruments (where at Guide there will be recommendation of settings or explanation, firmware updates info, PDF etc.), and I will add Display Category to the main page, to talk specifically for LG OLED's, Sony, Panasonic etc. and for calibration software.

I would like to hear what you think, because these details now are important for organizing better the info to the whole forum.

I like the master idea, to help you out to keep track we could mention 'master update' in the posting to let you know we added settings etc.

Ted what do you think of the topic correct white point for an OLED panel and the manufacturer! Such as X0.308 y0.313 where I can not do anything with a Sony Oled!
